S4 also known as Site 4
S4, also referred to as “Site 4,” is a purported off-site location near Area 51, located within the Nevada Test and Training Range in the Southern Nevada desert. Area 51, officially acknowledged by the U.S. government in 2013, is a highly classified and intensely secured area operated by the U.S. Air Force, known for its historical involvement in experimental aircraft and weaponry testing.
The CIA’s report explained that Area 51 was established during the Cold War as a testing and development facility for the U-2 reconnaissance plane. The document outlined how the site was selected, the construction of the facility, and the security measures put in place to ensure its secrecy. This report was released in response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request filed by the National Security Archive at George Washington University.
According to various claims, most notably from a man named Bob Lazar in 1989, S4 is a secret, subterranean facility dedicated to reverse-engineering extraterrestrial technology. Lazar alleges that he was an engineer working on the project, studying nine different extraterrestrial craft. His claims have fueled a great deal of speculation and interest, contributing significantly to the lore surrounding Area 51.
Lazar has provided some detailed descriptions of the crafts. He claims that the smallest was about 12 feet across, while the largest was about 18 feet. He described the interior as small and claustrophobic, with curved walls and ceilings. The seats were small, almost child-sized, according to Lazar. He also noted that the control panels were archaic-looking, with no obvious buttons or levers.
The scientific principles involved in Lazar’s claims primarily revolve around propulsion technology. Lazar alleges that the craft used “Element 115” (Moscovium), which was not synthesized until 2003 and is highly unstable, as a fuel source to generate gravity waves.
- Area 51 was officially acknowledged by the U.S. government in 2013 (CIA).
- Bob Lazar made his claims about S4 and alien technology in 1989 (Las Vegas Sun).
- Element 115 (Moscovium) was first synthesized in 2003 (Scientific American).
Books such as “Area 51: An Uncensored History of America’s Top Secret Military Base” by Annie Jacobsen present a detailed history of Area 51 but do not directly address the claims about S4. Instead, they focus on declassified projects that were carried out at Area 51.
