David Grusch Offers to Take Officials on a “Field Trip Out West” to UFO Retrieval Sites
In an interview released on August 13, 2026, former intelligence officer and UAP whistleblower David Grusch sat down with Dr. Phil McGraw for an episode of The Dr. Phil Podcast titled “David Grusch: The Whistleblower Who Told Congress We’re Not Alone.” The conversation moves beyond previous public statements into specific, high-stakes territory.
Grusch confirmed he has seen undisputed evidence of craft on this planet that are not from this planet. He told Dr. Phil he has viewed photographs and video of recovered non-human craft and the cadavers of their occupants. He stated that the United States has recovered more than 25 but fewer than 100 such vehicles over the last eight or nine decades. Some of these are now held by private defense contractors in a manner that places them beyond effective congressional oversight, particularly after funding shifts during the early 2000s global war on terror.
He went further on the biological side. When asked whether any of the pilots or occupants of these craft had been taken alive, Grusch answered yes. He said he knows people who have had direct interactions with them in detainment situations.
Grusch also described a wide taxonomy of both the recovered craft and the intelligences associated with them. He listed multiple vehicle types, including discs, “sunfish boot heel” shapes, boomerangs, crescent-moon forms, tic-tacs, and egg-shaped craft. Some recovered vehicles appeared empty and were assessed as likely drones, while others were piloted. On the biological side, he said the recovered life forms matched descriptions long reported by credible witnesses, including the small gray beings seen by schoolchildren in the 1994 Ariel School incident in Zimbabwe. He characterized the overall phenomenon as involving a spectrum of intelligences, ranging from those that seem only somewhat more advanced than humans to non-corporeal or plasmoid forms, such as the luminous orbs that have appeared at sensitive U.S. test ranges.
When discussing possible origins, Grusch cautioned against assuming everything is simply extraterrestrial. He noted that within our own galaxy there are extrasolar planets around nearby stars, but also raised other possibilities, including ultraterrestrial explanations or intelligences that may have developed here on Earth. He specifically pointed to the largely unexplored oceans, saying we do not understand 70 percent of them, and asked “what advanced intelligence might have developed on the seabed, so to speak — wink wink.”
Grusch added that he spoke with a former cabinet member who directly worked the issue for a particular former vice president — “You can guess which one, Darth Vader.” (The nickname has long been associated with Dick Cheney, who has for years been linked to deep knowledge of crash retrieval and reverse-engineering programs.)
According to Grusch, some form of consciousness-based communication occurred, which people often call telepathy. Friends of his who were on retrieval teams even felt this kind of communication as they approached the vehicles while cordoning them off for transport.
The pivotal moment came when Dr. Phil asked the direct question many have wanted answered since Grusch’s 2023 congressional testimony. If the president granted the necessary clearance, could Grusch take him to a facility where they could physically see and touch one of these craft and a cadaver? Grusch did not hedge. “Oh, yeah. We could take a little field trip out west,” he replied. He added that some of the objects are too large or laborious to move easily and may still remain at certain locations already known to him.
Grusch maintains he has already provided names, facilities, and program details through classified channels to the Intelligence Community Inspector General and to congressional committees. He notes that no one has yet proven him wrong or fully followed the evidence to its conclusion. He offered to help the current administration if summoned, saying he knows who to call and what doors to knock on.
This is not Grusch’s first time making extraordinary assertions under oath or on the record. His 2023 testimony and earlier interviews described a multi-decade crash retrieval and reverse-engineering program that the UAP Task Force was denied access to. What is new here is the explicit offer to escort authorized personnel to physical evidence, along with sharper numbers and details around live recoveries and communication.
Earlier in 2026, Dr. Phil was invited by the White House to review a tranche of UAP-related files before public release and has spoken publicly about a long-running cover-up and the existence of unexplained objects in U.S. airspace that were not built by humans. In this interview he pressed Grusch on the psychological preparedness needed if fuller disclosure occurs, stressing that the public has a right to the information while society must be ready to support those who may struggle with it.
Grusch’s claim is now testable in principle. The administration can grant him and a properly cleared team the access he says is possible and go look. If the craft and materials are there, the debate ends in one direction. If they are not, the debate ends in the other. Continuing to treat the issue solely through hearings, reports, and carefully curated video releases no longer matches the level of the allegation. The next destination, according to Grusch, is somewhere out west. The only remaining question is whether anyone with the authority to act will take the trip.
