On September 16, 2014, at 16:46 JST, the SID-1, an automatic observation and imaging device robot designed to record Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAPs) around the clock, captured footage of two high-speed UAPs. These objects, described as white and shining, were recorded by the SID-1® camera in Minami-Senju, Arakawa-ku, Tokyo, situated 100 meters above ground level. The UAPs appeared from the north at an elevation angle of 25 degrees. The weather was clear with a temperature of 27.5°C, a wind speed of 3.9 m/s from the south-southeast, and visibility reaching 20 kilometers.

The videos recorded by SID-1 on September 16, 2014, captured two capsule-shaped UAPs, shining white and aligned vertically, moving rapidly from north to northeast and east over Adachi and Edogawa wards from Kita-ku, Tokyo. Interestingly, similar capsule-shaped UAPs were observed in January 2015 by U.S. Navy pilots aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt off the coast of Jacksonville, Florida. These objects were captured in two well-known videos, “Gimbal” and “Go Fast,” using the Raytheon forward-looking infrared (FLIR) sensor.

The January 2015 encounters were notable for the advanced capabilities of the UAPs, which exhibited extraordinary speed and maneuverability. The videos were declassified and released to the public, highlighting the mysterious nature of these phenomena.

The pilots involved in the Florida encounters included Lieutenant Ryan Graves, and Lieutenant Danny Accoin. These encounters reportedly occurred almost daily over a period of several months, as the Roosevelt’s radar systems had been upgraded, enhancing their detection capabilities. The “Gimbal” video, in particular, shows a UAP rotating in mid-air, challenging conventional aeronautical explanations. These encounters have fueled ongoing discussions about the nature of UAPs and their implications for national security and aviation safety.

The YouTube channel “Space Phenomena Observatory Center (SPOC)” features a variety of videos focusing on Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) and UFO sightings. The content includes footage captured by various observation devices and personal encounters, showcasing different types of UAPs in multiple settings.

Japan has long been a hotspot for UFO sightings, with the Japanese military observing and reporting unusual aerial phenomena for decades. Notable incidents include a 1933 sighting in Hokkaido, where soldiers saw a glowing, zigzagging object, and multiple World War II sightings by naval officers of fast-moving, circular objects with bright red lights. Post-war, the Japanese military continued to encounter mysterious crafts, such as in 1951 when fighter planes were scrambled to intercept a large, metallic object. In recent years, public and media interest in UFOs has grown, furthering the country’s rich history of UFO encounters.
