Citizen Hearing on Disclosure

The Citizen Hearing on Disclosure was a historic event that occurred at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., from April 29 to May 3, 2013. It was organized by Paradigm Research Group, with the objective of addressing the extraterrestrial presence engaging the human race. The hearing featured former members of the U.S. Congress and Senate, who listened to over 40 witnesses, including researchers, former military personnel, and government officials from around the world, present testimonies about their experiences and knowledge related to UFOs and extraterrestrial encounters. The purpose of this event was to initiate a conversation on the possible existence of extraterrestrial life, to disclose previously classified information about UFO sightings and encounters, and to explore the implications of such phenomena for humanity.

The Paradigm Research Group (PRG) is an organization founded in 1996 by Stephen Bassett, a political activist and registered lobbyist on the issue of extraterrestrial-related phenomena. PRG aims to end the perceived government-imposed “truth embargo” on the acknowledgment of extraterrestrial life and promote open disclosure of UFO and extraterrestrial information.

The science behind the study of extraterrestrial life and UFOs primarily involves the fields of astrobiology, astronomy, and physics. Astrobiology is concerned with the study of life in the universe, focusing on the possibility of extraterrestrial life forms and the conditions required for their existence. Astronomers search for exoplanets—planets outside our solar system—in the habitable zones around their stars, where conditions might be suitable for the development of life. The study of UFOs often involves the examination of unexplained aerial phenomena, which might be attributed to advanced technologies developed by extraterrestrial civilizations.

In 2020, the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) officially released three unclassified Navy videos, which showed unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) that had previously been leaked in 2007 and 2017 (Source: U.S. Department of Defense). These videos sparked renewed interest in the subject of UFOs and extraterrestrial life.

According to a study published in the Astrophysical Journal, there could be as many as 300 million potentially habitable planets in our galaxy, the Milky Way (Source: “The Occurrence of Rocky Habitable Zone Planets Around Solar-like Stars from Kepler Data,” Astrophysical Journal, 2020). This discovery increases the likelihood of the existence of extraterrestrial life.

In 2019, the U.S. Navy patented theoretical designs for advanced aircraft technologies that could be used to create craft capable of traveling at incredible speeds and maneuvering in ways similar to some reported UFO sightings (Source: United States Patent and Trademark Office, Patent Number US10144532B2).

Dr. Michio Kaku, a theoretical physicist and futurist, have expressed their views on the topic. In a 2021 interview with The Guardian, Kaku stated that the idea of extraterrestrial contact is no longer confined to the realm of science fiction, and humanity must be prepared to make contact with alien civilizations.

“Unidentified: The National Intelligence Problem of UFOs” is a good book written by Luis Elizondo, former director of the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) at the Pentagon. In his book, Elizondo discusses his experiences investigating UAPs, the challenges faced in obtaining government support, and the need for increased transparency on the issue.

The New York Times, have reported on UFO sightings and government involvement in their investigation. In a 2017 article, the newspaper revealed the existence of the AATIP, a secret Pentagon program that investigated reports of UFOs and UAPs between 2007 and 2012.

The Citizen Hearing on Disclosure was a significant event that sought to bring attention to the subject of UFOs and extraterrestrial life, aiming to promote transparency and stimulate public discourse on the issue. While the scientific community continues to explore the possibility of extraterrestrial life through astrobiology and the search for habitable exoplanets, the study of UFOs and UAPs is still an area of ongoing investigation and debate.
