Brian O’leary

Brian O’Leary was an American astronaut, scientist, and author who was born on January 27, 1940, in Boston, Massachusetts, and passed away on July 28, 2011. O’Leary had a distinguished career in space exploration and was known for his advocacy of alternative energy and environmental issues.

O’Leary received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics from Williams College in 1961, and his Doctorate in Astronomy from the University of California, Berkeley in 1967.

After completing his education, O’Leary worked as a professor of astronomy at Cornell University, and later at the University of California, Berkeley. He was selected as a NASA astronaut in 1967, and was slated to fly on the Apollo 13 mission. However, he resigned from NASA in 1968, citing his growing concern over the militarization of space and the environmental impact of space exploration.

Later in his life, O’Leary became interested in the topic of UAP and UFOs, and was involved in efforts to study and investigate reports of unexplained aerial phenomena. He was a member of the Society for Scientific Exploration, which seeks to advance the study of phenomena that are not currently explained by mainstream science.

O’Leary was known for his advocacy of alternative energy and environmental issues, and was critical of the environmental impact of conventional energy sources and the emphasis on military applications of space technology. His interest in UAP and UFOs was based on his belief that the phenomenon deserved serious scientific study and investigation.
