Loosh

Loosh

The concept of “Loosh” originates from the book “Far Journeys” by Robert Monroe, a pioneer in out-of-body experiences and consciousness exploration. In the book, Monroe narrates an allegorical story that introduces the term “Loosh” to describe a kind of energy that is supposedly harvested from human emotions and experiences.

According to the story, an entity or group of entities creates a “garden” (Earth) to cultivate Loosh. This cultivation involves creating various life forms, including humans, to produce Loosh through their experiences and emotions. The story suggests that negative emotions and experiences, such as fear, pain, and suffering, generate a purer form of this energy.

The allegory serves as a metaphor for the idea that human experiences, especially intense emotional ones, have a kind of energy that could be valuable or useful in some metaphysical way. It touches on themes of manipulation, the nature of consciousness, and the purpose of human life.

The concept has since been adopted and expanded upon in various metaphysical and New Age circles. It’s often discussed in the context of theories about extraterrestrial life, the nature of reality, and the purpose of human existence. Some interpret it as a metaphor for the exploitation of human resources, both physical and emotional, by higher powers or cosmic forces.

Monroe’s narrative presents a universe where various life forms, including humans, are manipulated to produce this energy, which is highly valued by these entities.

The idea of Loosh aligns with the teachings of Rudolf Steiner, a scientist and philosopher who spoke of hostile beings in the spiritual world feeding off human emotion. Steiner emphasized the importance of overcoming negative emotions like fear and anxiety, which he believed were exploited by these entities.

In the context of esoteric research and channeling, the concept of Loosh, as negative human energy, is explored by various researchers. David Wilcock, for instance, has discussed this term in his contemporary esoteric work. While channeler Karl Mollison lists entities like the Reptilians and Greys as manipulators of humanity to generate fear and anger, thereby creating Loosh, the Arcturians are often described in New Age movements as advanced, benevolent beings from the Arcturus star system. They are characterized as peaceful and wise, focused on assisting Earth and its inhabitants in emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual transformation. This illustrates a contrast in the portrayal of extraterrestrial beings within these fields, reflecting a spectrum from malevolent entities feeding on negative energy to benevolent ones thriving on positive energy.
