Introduction to Crop Circles
What are Crop Circles?
Crop circles are large, geometric patterns that appear in fields of crops, usually wheat, barley, or corn. They are usually created overnight and are characterized by the circular or spiral shape of the flattened crops. The size of crop circles can range from a few feet in diameter to several hundred feet, and they often contain complex and intricate designs.
Messages can be embedded in complex geometric designs. The featured image of this article is artificially created by me with the sole purpose to show you that complex messages can be hidden in plain sight. In the below image, the web address https://unidentifiedphenomena.com is shown.
The main difference here is, that I am providing computer generated digital art, but in actual crop circles, there is actual art in real fields with real messages communicated to us from a non-human intelligence.
History of Crop Circles
The first recorded crop circle was documented in 1678 in Hertfordshire, England. However, it wasn’t until the late 1970s and early 1980s that crop circles began to attract widespread attention. During this time, crop circles began to appear with increasing frequency, and their size and complexity increased as well.
In the 1990s, crop circles became a popular topic of discussion and speculation. Many people believed that they were the work of extraterrestrial beings, while others believed that they were created by mysterious forces of nature. Despite numerous attempts to explain the phenomenon, the true origin of crop circles remains a mystery.
Theories about Crop Circles
Over the years, a variety of theories have been proposed to explain the origin of crop circles. Some of the most popular theories include:
- Extraterrestrial activity: This theory suggests that crop circles are created by extraterrestrial beings as a way of communicating with humans. Proponents of this theory believe that crop circles contain messages that can only be deciphered by advanced civilizations.
- Natural phenomena: Some scientists believe that crop circles are the result of natural phenomena, such as wind or weather patterns. They believe that the circular shapes are created by the circular movement of air or water, which flattens the crops.
- Hoaxes: This theory suggests that crop circles are created by people as a form of prank or artistic expression. There have been several instances where individuals have claimed responsibility for creating crop circles, and there is evidence to support this theory.
- Spiritual or mystical forces: Some people believe that crop circles are created by spiritual or mystical forces, such as earth energies or the collective consciousness of humanity.
Examples of Notable Crop Circles
- The Chilbolton Radio Telescope Crop Circle: This crop circle, which appeared in a field near the Chilbolton Radio Telescope in Hampshire, England in 2001, is considered one of the most significant crop circles in recent history. It is believed to be a response to the Arecibo Message, a message sent into space by scientists in 1974.
- The West Kennet Long Barrow Crop Circle: This crop circle, which appeared in a field near the West Kennet Long Barrow in Wiltshire, England in 1996, is considered one of the most complex and intricate crop circles ever created. It is believed to contain hidden messages and symbols that are yet to be deciphered.
- The Milk Hill Crop Circle: This crop circle, which appeared in a field near Milk Hill in Wiltshire, England in 2001, is considered one of the largest crop circles ever created. It measures approximately 400 feet in diameter and contains 409 circles.
- The Julia Set Crop Circle: This crop circle, which appeared in a field near Stonehenge in Wiltshire, England in 1996, is considered one of the most mathematically precise crop circles ever created. It represents a fractal pattern called the Julia Set, which is a concept in complex number theory.
- The Crabwood Alien Crop Circle: This crop circle, which appeared in a field near Crabwood Farm in Hampshire, England in 2002, is considered one of the most intriguing crop circles due to its depiction of an alien figure holding a disc with a binary-encoded message. The message, when translated, urges humanity to beware of false gifts and broken promises.
- The Cerne Abbas Giant Crop Circle: This crop circle, which appeared in a field near the Cerne Abbas Giant in Dorset, England in 1990, is considered one of the most mysterious crop circles due to its proximity to the ancient chalk figure. It features a complex geometric pattern that has been interpreted as a symbol of the Earth’s energy.
- The Windmill Hill Crop Circle: This crop circle, which appeared in a field near Windmill Hill in Wiltshire, England in 2011, is considered one of the most intricate crop circles due to its impressive 3D design. The formation, which consists of 164 circles, creates a stunning cube illusion when viewed from above.
- The Avebury Trusloe Crop Circle: This crop circle, which appeared in a field near Avebury Trusloe in Wiltshire, England in 2008, is considered one of the most beautiful crop circles due to its mesmerizing spiral pattern. The formation, which contains 150 circles, is believed to represent the Golden Ratio, a mathematical concept found throughout nature and art.
- The Barbury Castle Crop Circle: This crop circle, which appeared in a field near Barbury Castle in Wiltshire, England in 1991, is considered one of the most symbolic crop circles due to its unique triangular design. The formation, which features a central circle surrounded by three smaller circles, has been interpreted as representing the Trinity or the union of mind, body, and spirit.
- The Silbury Hill Crop Circle: This crop circle, which appeared in a field near Silbury Hill in Wiltshire, England in 2009, is considered one of the most enigmatic crop circles due to its proximity to an ancient man-made mound. The formation, which features a series of concentric circles and crescent shapes, has been linked to lunar and solar cycles.
- The Etchilhampton Crop Circle: This crop circle, which appeared in a field near Etchilhampton in Wiltshire, England in 1997, is considered one of the most harmonious crop circles due to its elegant geometric design. The formation, which features 12 interlocking circles forming a larger circle, has been associated with sacred geometry and the principles of harmony and unity.
- The Devil’s Den Crop Circle: This crop circle, which appeared in a field near Devil’s Den in Wiltshire, England in 2016, is considered one of the most intriguing crop circles due to its proximity to an ancient burial chamber. The formation, which features a series of hexagonal and star-shaped patterns, has been interpreted as a representation of cosmic consciousness and interconnectedness.
- The Mere Crop Circle: This crop circle, which appeared in a field near Mere in Wiltshire, England in 2012, is considered one of the most visually striking crop circles due to its intricate pattern of spiraling squares. The formation, which contains over 100 individual squares, has been associated with the concept of fractals and the idea of infinity within finite structures.
Here are two well-known crop circle incidents that allegedly contained binary codes:
- Chilbolton Crop Circle (2001): In a field near the Chilbolton radio telescope in Hampshire, UK, a crop circle appeared that seemed to depict a face. Near this, another formation appeared that looked like a rectangular array of blocks. Some claimed this was a response to the Arecibo message sent into space by humans in 1974. The supposed binary code in the formation was said to contain information about the senders including their DNA structure, their solar system, and the device they used for communication.
- Crabwood Crop Circle (2002): A crop formation appeared in Crabwood, near Winchester, UK, which showed what appeared to be a gray alien holding a disc. The disc was claimed to contain a binary message which, when translated into English, read: “Beware the bearers of FALSE gifts & their BROKEN PROMISES. Much PAIN but still time. BELIEVE. There is GOOD out there. We oppose DECEPTION.”
Crop circles continue to be a source of fascination and speculation for people all over the world. Despite numerous attempts to explain the phenomenon, the true origin of crop circles remains a mystery. Whether they are the result of extraterrestrial activity, natural phenomena, hoaxes, or spiritual forces, crop circles continue to captivate and intrigue people with their beauty and complexity.
